Our University Achieved Another Remarkable Success in the 6th Hebei Province University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition

On April 25th, the 6th Hebei Province University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition concluded successfully at Hebei University. Our university’s participating teachers, with their solid teaching foundation, distinct innovative characteristics, and outstanding educational practices, won 2 Special Prizes, 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, and 3 Third Prizes. Among them, Teacher Yang Bei, with her outstanding performance, successfully advanced to the national finals, and our university was simultaneously recognized as an outstanding organizing unit of the competition. In this competition, the three core indicators of our university’s award level, total number of awards, and number of Special Prizes all set new historical records since our university’s participation, achieving a breakthrough and fully demonstrating the university’s strong comprehensive strength in teaching innovation reform, curriculum system construction, and optimization of educational models.
To prepare for this provincial competition, our university attached great importance to the competition’s preparatory work. The university leaders made overall plans and pushed forward from a high level. The Academic Affairs Office took the lead in coordinating and organizing, mobilizing high-quality teaching and research forces from all secondary colleges to form a dedicated competition preparation team. They strictly followed the provincial competition's evaluation standards to implement precise measures and targeted training. The university integrated its high-quality teaching resources, invited key teachers who had won national competitions in previous years to form an expert guidance team, and conducted one-on-one lesson grinding guidance, full-scale simulation defenses, and standardized benchmarking polishing to comprehensively improve the quality of the competition courses and the teaching skills of the participating teachers. During the provincial on-site competition stage, Academic Affairs Office Director Song Wanjie led the team to the competition, comprehensively coordinating the organization, on-site coordination, and service guarantee work of the competition, and closely following the progress of the competition to provide solid support for the participating teachers to perform stably and strive for excellence.
This competition was highly competitive and had a wide coverage. A total of 51 Special Prizes were awarded throughout the province. Our university’s participating teams made multiple breakthroughs and achieved success across the board. The seven competition tracks all flourished and reaped multiple rewards. The two Special Prizes were won in the key construction areas of ideological and political education in courses and artificial intelligence, which not only vividly demonstrated the university’s in-depth commitment to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and nurturing talent and the comprehensive construction of ideological and political education in courses but also reflected the university’s focus on the development of emerging disciplines and the promotion of smart education and digital teaching innovation. The university’s educational characteristics and the effectiveness of teaching reform were fully highlighted.

In recent years, our university has always been committed to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and nurturing talent, continuously deepening comprehensive educational and teaching reforms, and steadily advancing key tasks such as the “Four New” construction, full coverage of ideological and political education in courses, collaborative education and training through industry-university cooperation, upgrading of smart classrooms, and improvement of experimental teaching. The university has long adhered to promoting teaching through competitions, promoting reform through competitions, and promoting construction through competitions, taking the teachers' teaching innovation competition as a core approach to tempering the teaching staff, updating educational concepts, innovating teaching methods in the classroom, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of education. It has continuously improved the support system for teachers’ teaching development, systematically enhanced the comprehensive teaching abilities of full-time teachers, and steadily consolidated the foundation for cultivating applied talents.
In the next step, the university will continue to adhere to innovation-driven teaching reform, continuously deepen classroom teaching and curriculum system reform, and increase investment in teaching innovation research and practice. It will give full play to the exemplary and leading role of the award-winning backbone teachers, create a strong atmosphere where all are deeply engaged in teaching and all are committed to innovation, continuously build a positive educational ecosystem of “promoting teaching through competitions, promoting creation through competitions, and promoting learning through competitions”, fully cultivate high-quality innovative talents of the new era, accelerate the pace of building high-level undergraduate education, and strive to build a first-class applied university, promoting the university’s educational quality and connotative development to a new level.
