Our university holds the World Book Day recitation competition final and award ceremony

On the evening of April 28th, our school held the final and award ceremony of the World Book Day themed recitation competition “Spring Chanting and Summer Strings, Literary Hearts Shine Together” in the auditorium of the Conservatory of Music. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Wang Yongqin, President, Ji Lihuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Li Juan, Vice President, attended the event and participated in the cultural event with more than 300 representatives of teachers and students.
At the final venue, the participating teams from each college took the stage one by one, expressing their emotions through voice and reciting their aspirations, showcasing the youthful charm and cultural heritage of the students from our university. The instrument ensemble Jiu Er carries the depth and passion of the black earth, playing the overture of the cultural feast of the evening party. Long March Meeting revisits the red years, Reading for the Rise of China highlights the youth’s responsibility, I am proud, I am Chinese expresses patriotism, China in Tang Poetry fully showcases the beauty of Chinese poetry, Reeds of Caiputai pays tribute to revolutionary martyrs, Youth shines with vitality, and I am Important conveys the power of life. In the scoring session, the Music Academy presented the song May We All Be Blessed with Longevity,adding exquisite grace and charm to the gala.
The judges scored the contestants on site based on their outstanding performances. In the end, the School of Music stood out and won the first prize; The School of Journalism and Communication, Leda International Art School, and School of Literature and History won the second prize; the School of Teacher Education, the Department of Agriculture and Food Science, and School of Physical Education were awarded the third prize.
During the award ceremony, school leaders presented honorary certificates to the winning collectives and individuals, and the person in charge of the library read out the commendation decision. This recognition covers multiple awards such as “Excellent Campus Reading Collective”, “Excellent Reading Class”, “Excellent Reading Promoter”, “Campus Reading Star”, etc., fully demonstrating the outstanding achievements of our school’s teachers and students in promoting national reading and building a “Bookish Shiyuan” in the 2025-2026 academic year.
The World Book Day themed recitation competition is one of the important contents of the school’s 2026 “Year of Study Style Construction” plan and an important component of the school’s “Reading Season” activities. The activity is linked by recitation, organically integrating red classics, patriotism, youthful ideals, and excellent traditional Chinese culture. It not only provides a stage for students to showcase their language charm and good spirits but also creates a strong atmosphere of love for reading, reading good books, and being good at reading on campus.
