On April 19, the finals of the 2026 Hebei Provincial College Students’ Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Science and Technology Competition came to a successful conclusion. Standing out in the event, our university won 1 Provincial First Prize, 1 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize with remarkable achievements.
As a national Class A key competition for universities nationwide, the National College Students’ Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Science and Technology Competition is guided by the Energy and Power Engineering Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the National Competition Committee. It serves as an important platform to foster college students’ awareness of green development, innovative scientific and technological capabilities, and social practice literacy. This provincial selection was sponsored by the Hebei Provincial Department of Education and undertaken by Yanshan University. Featuring extensive coverage and fierce competition, it attracted a total of 1,005 outstanding entries from 53 universities across the province.
To ensure high-quality preparation for the competition, the university made overall arrangements and advanced relevant work in an orderly way. The Academic Affairs Office took charge of overall coordination, while the School of Geographical Sciences and Environment undertook campus selection and training. Since the preparation launched in February, the university has standardized the selection procedure strictly. Through departmental recommendation, university-level screening and expert collective review, 25 outstanding entries were selected from 31 submissions by 6 departments to represent the university in the provincial competition. During the preparation, instructors provided dedicated guidance throughout the process, and student teams collaborated closely to refine their works, realizing the in-depth integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The competition adheres to the philosophy of promoting learning, innovation and practice through contests. It has effectively enhanced the professional practical and innovative research capabilities of teachers and students, greatly stimulated students' enthusiasm for scientific exploration, innovation and practical application. It has also comprehensively inspected the university's achievements in practical teaching and innovation-oriented education, and fully demonstrated students' sound professional literacy and positive innovative spirit.
